The HSCL teacher works with parents/guardians and school staff in a number of ways:
- visiting parents/guardians in their homes
- organising courses, talks or meetings for parents/guardians
- actively involving parents/guardians in their children’s education through projects and initiatives
- promoting closer partnership between teachers and parents
- working with the Parents Association
- working with relevant community agencies that play a role in the life of the child and parent such as CAMHS, Kildare Youth Services, Foróige, Family Resource Centres, Newbridge Library, SVP etc.
- working with Tusla, Tess and the Education Welfare Board
